REQUEST FOR TENDER: International Accredited Exercise Physiologist Training and Examination

ESSA is proud to announce that it is searching for a quality education provider to support the examination of international students wishing to apply for accredited exercise physiologist status within Australia.

Background:

Since 2017, ESSA and the exercise science industry has worked to harness the value and contributions that overseas graduates bring to Australia. In that regard, we have worked to provide an examination process that allows us to assess their skills, knowledge and competency against the ESSA Professional Standards for Exercise Physiologists. These requirements have been designed, and are regularly reviewed, in consultation with industry leaders, academic advisors and other key stakeholders to ensure currency against real industry needs.

Next Step:

ESSA can now invite organisations to submit a tender for the operation of updated international theory and practical examinations. This program will be created in accordance with the current ESSA Professional Standards and will operate from 1st January 2020 to 1st January 2023.

The examinations must be designed to allow the completion of an on-line theory examination and a pre-approved centred practical examination, whether at an organisation’s site or one that has been deemed appropriate by the organisation and ESSA.

The examinations will need to be coordinated, executed, marked and moderated by the organisation under a formal contract. ESSA will support the successful program build and formalise a contract agreement with the successful tenderer.
