Exercise Considerations for Transgender Children on Puberty Blockers Webinar

There has been an emerging incidence of people commencing gender affirming treatments from <18 years old in Australia whilst there is also limited access to or understanding of gender diverse and inclusive health care facilities which can lead to delayed access to appropriate interventions such as exercise to manage potential side-effects of puberty suppressant treatments. This webinar aims to increase clinician knowledge and confidence in providing exercise related treatments and education to children, adolescents commencing or thinking about commencing this treatment, alongside providing education to their parents to assist them in supporting their children meet physical activity guidelines and tailored strategies to manage potential future issues later in adulthood.  

Presented by Lucija Peric, AES, AEP

Lucija Peric (she/her) is an accredited exercise physiologist and a proud ally of trans, non-binary and gender diverse individuals who aims to make movement-based treatments more accessible for these individuals alongside assisting practitioners in becoming better informed and confident in providing education and supporting treatment for children who are undergoing hormonal affirming treatments. Lucija currently works at Your Move Health; a private EP based practice on the Mornington Peninsula, alongside an online multi-disciplinary gender inclusive health care team; With Pride and teaches future exercise physiologists how cater for the mental, physical and social needs of gender and sexually diverse people.
