New mums require a rehabilitation period, and safe progression back to exercise, sport and activity after the musculoskeletal changes in pregnancy, labour and birth. Exercise physiologists are well placed to work with a postnatal population, helping safely progress new mums back into higher intensity & impact exercise.

This presentation provides a thorough understanding of the physiology & assessment for common pathophysiology diastasis recti (DRAM) as well as some of the research supporting the rehabilitation of this condition. You will also learn how to safely teach functional exercise and movement to new mums, as well as physiological education on prolapse, abdominal separation and pelvic instability.

This is a recording of an ESSA webinar presented on 13 April 2021.
